Ron "The Bus Driver" Williams beat me like a drum for 8 months at 10 to 4. Strawberry used to give me 6-"no-count" for a year and shoot me into a coma. I took me like "forever" to realize push the balls up table you moron. In the late 80's there was no "Winning One-Pocket" and the internet was not exactly what it is today. I finally won a session, then Strawberry came into his second pool career and started playing like he did in the 70's. Poor me lol.

My first one pocket beat was around 1955 on a 5 x 10 snooker table by Dado the Fillipino.

In 1959 I beat him, but he quit and had San Francisco Phil with him and Phil busted me.

Not too smart then and have not gotten much smarter since.

Blackie got me too. I had just beat David Howard in a tournament match and he, Blackie, recognized that it was a fluke. He woofed me and I bit. He played like he had no respect for my game and just freewheeled. It was ugly.

Oh, I almost forgot my proudest beat. Baby Face. Alton Whitlow beat me in Detroit. He was over the hill but not that far over and I had just eaten a Quarter Pounder with fries and a shake--couldn't make a ball.

I never said I never lost at one pocket.

I was beaten by Kelly, SHD, Hopkins and Ray Booth playing even.
I won the rest of the time.

Best I can do is a couple of bank pool beats by John Schmidt!

He also threw a snowball at me a couple of winters ago in the local pool hall... I heard, 'Hey Chad!' and turned around to see a white sphere flying at me and the only thing my brain could think was..

"why did John just fire a cueball at me..."

I caught the snowball just in front of my face... heck of a pool memory!

This is my "Beaten by" list. It is almost as long as my "Beat list," which if anything, tells you that I liked to play, and would play anybody, and my bankroll was at risk every time I got down. Plus, as you can see, beating me only insured you a replay. For example, Vernon Eliot got to strum on me an awful lot before I finally got to beat him. One guy who is not on the list, I never beat, Polack Vince The Killer. We started playing, him spotting me 8 to 5. I lost every time. Then 8 to 6. Never won. Then 8 to 7. Still no good. Finally, even up. I had improved enough that I could now win, but he managed to hang on and only break even. He never played me again. George Fels chronicled my wars with Vince in a Billiard Digest article.

Freddie, I thought Harry the Horse was Harry Aproff of Detroit sometimes called Horse Face Harry. Also, don't tell me you beat Harry Sexton at 9 ball.
