I have had an unrestored circa 1885 Brunswick "Popular" table for over 40 years. It is in birdseye maple background with rosewood floral inlay, and was surely a beautiful table in its day! I always thought I would restore it but I can see at this stage (and age) that is not going to happen lol. I've had it set up before and it is functionally complete. The guy I got it from apparently recruited a few friends and they dragged it out of its 2nd floor fraternal club location fully assembled, and it suffered damage as you can imagine, along with the general deterioration of the inlay etc. It is actually 4 piece slate, but 4-1/2 x 9. It had been a billiard table but along the way I cut in some pockets myself.

The image below is an original Brunswick catalog drawing from their archive pages. This link takes you to the archive page with more information about the table.

The parts of it are stored various places in my house and garage, so as I dig parts out I will add photos. It is definitely a restoration project for somebody a little more ambitious than I am at this point!! I'm thinking $400 for it -- just so if someone takes it they are committed a little anyway. That's about what I paid for it back about 1980, but that is not the point, it certainly doesn't owe me anything lol.

I thought I would start here, then Facebook and finally Craig's List if necessary

I loosely kinda set up the table to take a few pics. It’s complete, but as you can see it’s a handful of a restoration project. Birdseye maple background with Rosewood inlay. Rails are Rosewood tops with Birdseye aprons.
