My guess is you keep missing it long.
I'm sure Dr. Dave has an explanation for it, but you just need to remember to hit the ball a little thinner than you normally would , once you get over the weirdness, you will probably start making it 8 or 9 out of 10 .
Maybe more, the pocket is the same size coming in this way, as it is from the other side, which to me, makes shooting from the other side, and knowing the object ball has to come back over, to the opponents side when you miss, {and we all miss , whether we admit it or not} kinda short sighted.
