Was kinda curious what some of you folks do to practice..?
I like the ghost bank game, but getting bad spreads and such can be a bit of a pain.. I want to just bust out some clusters sometimes when there is absolutely nothing available(instead of impossible shot after impossible shot), but that's doing something that really isn't true to the game, so I try to avoid it all costs - not that going for make-believe shots is really any better.
What helped me a bit was when I started playing, I'd run out of or get low on quarters or just get bored trying to play a rack by myself and so I'd take the last ball or two and just bank it back to myself. After a little bit of that, I started seeing how much throw or spin transfer I could get on a long bank - ie, CB lined up behind OB at head spot and see how far I could bank it over shooting straight at it, then moving both over closer to the rail and so on.
I like practicing the twist bank, too.. I need to start firing that shot a bit more, though, because it seems too easy to overspin the OB.
The fancy shots also help to keep me interested. Like the cross-over-pocket 2-rail side bank, 4 railers('round the world shot), 3 in the side the hard way, etc..
So, what keeps you banking?
