Good Morning Folks, and belated happy fourth,

While updating my classified ad today, I noticed that there were seven
users reading the one pocket forum! I think I must be living in the wrong
area, if I ever want to learn one pocket from experienced players.

I am in MA, and "pool halls" have been drying up in this area, with the
one in our toen closing almost 3 years ago. The closest one, which is
reminiscent of a "ghost town" in a western movie, is about 12 miles away.

I heard about Brighton Billiards a while back, and that Grady Mathews was
known to play there. I visited the establishment almost a year ago, and
was happy to see a young Asian lady outside, smoking a cigarette, and
we started talking. I mentioned I'd have one with here before I went in,
and she replied, "I don't think we can go in". I said "Huh?", and she said
"The doorknob is gone!". After finding the place, finding a place to park,
walking back to the area with my cue, and relaxing outside, I was looking
forward to playing a little pool. I noticed there are some web sites that
list places to play, but most are out-of-date, and being a lover of the
game, this is quite frustrating.

Anyway, it's good to know there are still some other folks out there that
like to play, and perhaps one of these days I will be able to watch some
folks play one pocket. I only saw a brief episode of play many years ago,
before I even knew what nine ball was!

Anyway, I hope you liked my short (and sadfully true) story, and maybe
one of these days we can share some time on the felt...

It is unfortunate but true that there are few places to play at in the Boston area, but if you want to get together at Boston Billiards for some one pocket let me know.
