Eight ebony points with ebony butt. Real pre-ban ivory inlays in both the butt and points. Ebony - ivory checkered ring work at C D E. Single nickel ring at A and B.
This cue was custom modified by Greg in St. Augustine, Florida to be adapted for myself as a wheelchair player so I could screw in the two 12 inch extensions into the butt via uni-loc quick release joint. The extensions have single nickel rings like the Schon and are stained to match the forearm very closely. The butt bumper release via quick release and the extensions attach easily from there. The butt weighs 16 ounces even with the butt bumper, or 15.5 without. The shafts each weigh around 4.0 ounces. The Schon shaft has seen minimal playing time, maybe 5 or 6 games as it is brand new. The Petree shaft I have shot with for over a year and a half now. The black band on this shaft will come off quite easily with cleaning. The older Schon shaft needs some serious cleaning and it does have a nasty nick in it. It does make a very good backup shaft. Both the Petree and older Schon shaft do have a tiny bit of roll out which does not affect play whatsoever; the ferrule does not leave the table. I just wanted to mention this in case there was any concern. Only flaw is a finish nick on the buttcap which may be visible in the butt picture, otherwise the cue is very, very nice shape.
