I wish I lived a little closer but 2700 some odd miles is a tad far to travel for this one. Good luck to all participants, and may the tournament be a rousing success. :)

Frank-- Sounds like a real nice event. Go get 'em, my man!

Doc

Thanks Doc for the support but I'm going to have to get through a hoard of top notch players. It's a nice place with some good gold crown tables and one diamond. The upside is that it's only about a five minute drive from my home.

The owner of Stix just informed me that a a change in dates had to be make.
The tournament dates have been changed to October the 12th and 13th.
Also the entry has changed to $40 instead of 50. $1500 is still added with a field of 32.

Frank, there must have been some whining and sniveling about the $50 entry. But for a one time event, even $50 is low. Especially when the owner is going to pony up $1500!

I don't know about Cucamonga, but when I lived in California I realized that most of the players are cheapskates when it comes to tournament entry fees. My guess was that in the metro areas, since there were so many tournaments available, they got spoiled. Because most players don't expect to win, or even cash, they'll shop for the lowest entry fee.

However, since there are so few one-pocket events available, I believed that players would pay a little extra for a quality event. The two full 1P events that I ran here were $2000 added/$125 entry. The players lined up!

Another thing is that most of us have not realized how this horrible Federal Reserve-caused inflation has affected prices. $40 today is like $20 was, just a few years ago... A $100 bill spends just about like a $20 bill used to.:(

But that's all academic. Y'all will have a great event nonetheless.

Doc

I haven't heard anything about that but I will check and post about it. Are you coming?

Not positive yet Frank. If I make it, I will wear my "Don-atin" shirt.

Well worth the entry to watch players like you that play the game well.

Good luck, and shoot well.
