I played 100% to win the money. No Ego Involved. Whoever had the money that was my target.

No excusses. I loved the game. Without the money being in pool. I would not have played more then 2 or 3 years.

I am being as honest as I can. I wanted the money. I was tiered off being broke and hungry.

And when my mother told me the story when I was a baby. And I would scream and holler and teair on her clothes for food.

But thier was no food too feed me. And both my brothers had manutriation problems. And bad eyes and lungs because off no food.

And from being one off the richest families in Romainia that was hard for me too take. Growing up.

And a big part off my motavation was never too be hungery again. Thier is nothing worse then hunger in lif.

And then I herd from my father how many people died in the concentration camps from humger and cold. It left a mark in my mind for life.

I played for the money. And the richer people wore they more I enjoyed betting them.

And those sl;eze bag hotels on the road and no car didnt make anything easier.

I'll bet Marty would return a call from Michael Jordon. Dippy Dave is famous and might have a fan or two in high places in Hollywood. He rubs elbows with all sorts of famous types at the world series of Poker. Joe Rogan of The Ultimate Fighter knows some people, I'm sure. He likes pool. Who is the commedian in NY who owns part of Amsterdam Billiards? David Brenner? Jeanette Lee must know some Hollywood types. This is just 60 seconds of thinking from the top of my head.

If I were you, I'd make a master plan. I'd include a short teaser that you could read in 2 minutes or less that would lay out your proposal and try to hook whoever read it into wanting to produce it. I'd make a list of as many people as you could think of who might be able to help you. I fully suggest that anything you write you have proof read and corrected by someone competent to do so. This is no time to practice your English.

Networking is the key. Make personal contacts. Face-to-face is better than phone; phone is better than email; email is better than us mail; us mail is totally useless. Start with telephone. I would perfect and rehearse an elevator speach. This is a pitch of your idea that you can perform on the spot that does not take longer than 30 seconds. This is all the time someone will give you in a first phone call or in the unlikely event you step on the elevator with them. You must hook them in 30 seconds.

It might be best to contact Bob at Bebob Publishing and see if he'll ghost write your book. Once you have a book you can send it to all sorts of people incuding Hollywood types, 60 minutes, all the news outlets, etc.

Vap, Bebob actually GHOST WROTE the Cornbread autobiography. Cornbread couldn't write. I know because he asked me to do it before he asked Bob. No joke. I wouldn't doubt that Artie would be paying for it but the alternative would be to write it yourself and send the manuscript to Ransome House or some other publishing company. I didn't feel I had the time or the talent to write Red's book for him but I did call one of the Publishing companies for him and got through to an assistant editor who promised to read an outline and sample chapter to see if they were interested in publishing it. I gave a note to Red and his wife with the info but they didn't go that route. I'm just trying to help Artie. He wants to write a book and get the story out. Do you have any suggestions?

Nobody is likely to make much effort to hear it or air it. I would recommend that he hire someone to assist him with the preparation of his message and then buy the necessary space in Washington and New York newspapers to publish it as advertising or as an announcement. It would certainly be seen, which is about all he can hope for.

If he wants to do a book about his life, adventures and abuse at the hands of the law, that's a whole 'nother smoke. He will need a ghostwriter, and will probably have to self-publish it. Most publishers can be expected to advise him to submit it thru an agent, without reading it. He might be able to get a good agent if his ghostwriter is already successful and well-known. This is a pretty tough proposition. His friend Freddy B can probably give him some guidance in this matter. Or Jay Helfert, or just about anyone else who has set out to produce a pool book. One thing here if you will. To be taken seriously, It has to more than just a rant. There are rants enough crowding the airwaves and printed media. When you tell what you want to say in the form of a story, people find pleasure in reading it. You reach more ears. You build allies because by the time someone reads your story, they relate to you--they're on your side.

One other thought and then I'll shut up until asked for more. When we have great ideas, it is tempting to want someone to swoop in and take it over and bring it to complete fruition. It's human nature. The hard truth is that you will no doubt have to do most of the hard work yourself. Even if you got George Fels to help you or Bob Henning; you would have to sit down with them for countless hours and slog through the details. This is what it takes. There is no shortcut that I know of.
