This match is OUTSTANDING! Everyone should go see this. Accu Stats / Pat F are saving our C-19 lives with some of these old matches.

This is an awesome match, first time I ever saw Efren wilt, even a little. Can't fault him though , the pressure was just phenominal and for such a long time.

I don't think I had ever heard of Danny Smith before this event. I remember thinking, "Who?" when the lineup was announced.

Good moves and good shooting.

I hate that efren couldn't bring it home
especially since he had chances
but it was a nice match

I forget where I saw it
but there was another match
danny vs. effie
and danny really scorched him
I could be imagining this
please confirm

Danny was really playing great at this event.

Danny's dad was was a very good player from Ohio they called Red

Efren beat Danny in the finals of this same event, he dipped into his magicians bag of tricks

In the end it was Efren with the big smile and I got lucky comment lol

An interesting series of shots that ends with Danny losing this game. Danny coming to the table and has a combo on the 8, but what should he do. There is a very simple shot available to get out of this, and reverse it and put the pressure on to Reyes.

Efren just shot and left the 2 in front of his hole, it is Danny shot, with Billy stating prior to the combo choice that it is very risky, and Danny D. stating what else can he do?

Considering there's no obvious shot to pocket a ball in my hole, I'd tend to want to clear his ball away. There's an easy rail first kick. Played softly the 2 could stay as a blocker from the 3 bank.

The 3 looks like it's sitting out a bit far from the rail to play the 9 carom.

But a carom off the 5 and catching the side rail might pocket that 3 ball and leave shape.

(edit): wow, my bad. Yes, Doc's tiki seems very sound 😕

by the way I liked what BI and DD said about luck:

Billy: "...luck is just a residue of skill..."
Danny: "..you gotta be good enough to have a chance to get lucky..."
Billy: "..the better you are, the luckier you get..."

I thought they were all true and good sayings about luck lol....

there really is no such thing as luck. just randomness that you interpret a certain way.

hi beat
does this apply to efren (or whomever)
hitting the cb in a way that is conducive to receiving good fortune on the table?
