We can make it happen if everyone wants a mini-tournament. I'm sure the locals would want to participate in that as well. I'd vote for matching up but that's just me. I've asked local players to join OnePocket.org so they might be eligible to fill out the 32 man bracket. Let me know what the consensus is & we can reserve the room for Thursday night.guess it depends on a few things.....(1) if everyone is interested in it or would rather just match up, (2) if the local players are interested in mixing it up with the 1p.org crew, (3) what game - historically have done a single elimination banks or one ball one pocket (races to 3).
an any event, a single elimination "open" 32 field has worked well in the past ($50 entry seems to be the sweet spot). think we'd need more than 5 tables (at least to start). field isn't exactly filling up - only 20 or so entries so far and there's always a late drop or two (as well as a couple/few late entries).... but it's been a cool thing to get some of the home room players involved (future 1p.org members?) before the MOT next day.
up to you, Birdman77, Keith E, B_White....if you'd be down for handling it and think it would work.

Bille, somehow I lost your phone number! PM me with it, or call 228-896-6616 with it. Want to know what you've been up to....Okay, so after reading this, i hope I qualify...Most of you might be surprised at my fargo but it is for 9 ball and 10 ball...I am not driving and will be there either wed or thur...I know it is unusual for me to fly...
Matt I will get you the entry this weekend, and I need a 2xl shirt now...I am continuing to blossom after retirement...
I have not played any one pocket in so long someone may have to explain the rules to me again...
As far as the pro's playing, I always learned from people like Grady, Freddy, Dr. Bill, Shannon and John Brumback...I have even gotten lucky and beaten them sometimes...
Yes. All 9' Diamonds ! We have 14 in the tournament room. As Newkirk mentioned, we have plenty of stadium seating for guests.are we playing on diamonds?
what cue ball?
(thanks for all the leg work....)
I just paid for the tournamentHere we go again with another MOT and you should be looking forward to it!!! This will be held at Q-Master Billiards in Virginia Beach. https://www.q-masters.com
The tournament dates are July 29-31st.
And before anyone asks (Newkirk, Col. Bille, Crabb, Mitch, etc.), YES Lizz will be coming with me!!
The usual $100 entry fee, race to 3 Double Elimination with a single race to 4 finals (winner of hot seat getting the first break). The usual active member qualifications are in place, which is a Verified member, who joined at least one month before the tournament, with a minimum of 20 posts.
32 player field.
Freemoney had posted about local attractions in the other thread that Steve started announcing the tourney.
The tournament has typically filled up fast with verified members the last several years but there were a couple of last minute cancellations. I would encourage anyone that would like to participate to register ASAP.
I will be keeping a spreadsheet of paid entrants and arrival times and updating it on the site every few days.
When payment is made regardless if it is via PayPal (FRIENDS and FAMILY ONLY!!!) or check, I will need your full name, USERNAME and estimated arrival so the spreadsheet is accurate.
Please also let me know when you anticipate arriving in Virginia Beach for the tournament.
- They are offering no greens fees, but players in (or knocked out) who are signed up for the tournament pay $5/day rate play all you want outside the tournament, starting Wed and running through Sunday. And they have a TON of tables, so plenty of matching up will be possible.
- Payment for the $100 entry fee is as follows:
- Payment can be sent via check or PayPal:
14860 Danville Ave W.
Rosemount, MN 55068
PayPal should be sent as (FRIENDS and FAMILY ONLY!!!) to email@example.com
I will also be working on getting shirt sizes and style (polo, t-shirt or jersey) for each member that would like one as well. If you could include in the notes your size, that would save some time as well. I will get pricing together once I have the design ready and shirt style options, I will let everyone know.
Please let me know if you have any questions.View attachment 438099
I'm in -- paypal sent friends and family
Welcome to onepocket.org! However, it does not appear that you have enough activity here to qualify for this MOT, given it is for "active members"who post here in the forum. At best you land on a vetting list, but by the rules set for this tournament, it does not look like you would qualify. If you are local, we will be there for 4-5 days and happy to match up -- many of our players hope to be active in and out of the tournament, so you would still find plenty of play available.I just paid for the tournament
Tyrone welcome to the party !! The tourney list has not been updated since 4/26 (pg1 of this thread) so don't get too concerned if your name is not there. They will update periodically. Glad you can make it Va Beach. This is going to be a great tournament !!I just paid for the tournament
I update the players list as I get new entries. As Steve stated above, the minimum criteria has not been met by Tyronedng to qualify for this particular MOT.Tyrone welcome to the party !!
