So Clem pushed the second time and gave up ball in hand?

Then Wimpy didn't take it?

Trying to figure out the scenario here since there were three (3) pushes in a row.
Never came across that before.

You could push out after a push out without giving ball in hand in those days.

Steve,

Trying to clarify.

Two fouls by the same player was ball in hand in those days.

Wish it was the same today. You could protect yourself in those days.
The best player could win.

No longer.

I know Bill. I grew up playing either 2 in a row or 2 by the same player.

But in your story you had 2 fouls by the same player with 1 by the other...3 in a row and then somebody shot at it, I just can't figure out how that was, especially at JC.

I want to answer something from earlier in the thread.

People ran a shit load of racks "packages" 30-40 years ago.

People run a shit load of racks "packages" now also.

You'll see more "packages" in races to 11 and more than you will in races to 7.

Years ago there were more tournaments that were races to 11.

Nowadays the standard has been races to 7 with the exception of the Open.

Steve,

You are right.

At the Dayton tournament in 74 race to 11 I ran a 5 pack and 2 tables down Richie Florence ran a 5 pack at the same time.

The difference between then and now was that playing push out your opponent could seldom recover.
