Let's hope we never grow up. I will be down there tomorrow to get a little practice in for the Hollywood One Pocket. I was going to go by & see my old friends at the Golden Cue, but will also hit Hard Times & Santa Monica. Say hello.

I'm also here everyday lurking and reading all the great info and the older posts.
Good to see you posting on here, David! I know that you're a jam-up 14.1 specialist, and have many high run notches on your belt. Do you also like to play 1P? I assume you do, since your ability to work in close --ala straight pool-- would make you very adept at one-hole.

Dick you would have been the first grammar school chopper pilot. Plus there wasnt too many helo's around at that time. If you come to DCC you are eligible for a free T. Take that as a compliment, I only give free T's to guys that I think can play. Many so-called players dont get the nod.

100andout<<<<Gerry over at AZ....I play a ton of 14.1,

I mostly lurk here, and I'm working on reservations for the Derby right now. I'd love to play some of you guys 1P there.....don't know if I'm in the "15", but no weight needed....I'd rather play heads up! :D.....as they say, leave the weight at the gym!

Well hello all I would have replied sooner but been on vaction and decided to leave my puter in the Desert with WGCP and LilBubba. My screen name is based off my other passion "Duck Hunting". It is kinda like that old joke of letter play.

M R Ducks
M R Not
M Is
U C Deem Greenheads

Plus where I was rasied my father always had a saying about savin them greenheads ($$$$$). To bad I got hooked on 1P and lost a lot of that early but I think Uncle SAM has helped me buil an ok bank roll now we will see when I get home.:)

I don't know, Doc... I like to play, but I lack the patience required to be good at it, so I would consider myself a low "C" 1 pocket player. I learned a lot when I played Voodoo Daddy a few months ago, and Vagabond showed me a lot when we played in Texas a few years ago. I'm a 14.1 addict for life and I concentrate on that mostly, and you get addicted to running balls and following the patterns. I am always willing to learn more and more about everything and anything in any game. There are some awesome 1p players here in Orlando that I can learn from, I just need to find the time to do that.

Since I mentioned lurkers in my last post, it got me to thinking, so I thought I'd make this thread....

It looks to me like about 95% of the members on here are lurkers.....Hey, don't be shy, c'mon out of the woodwork and introduce yourselves - some of you have got some pretty curious names - you could start out by telling what the hell those names mean!.......And what cities are you in ? - hell, let's stir things up, maybe some of you are in the same city and you can get some action going, matching up with each other..........Alright now, I'm looking to see at least 15 responses by this time tomorrow!..........And for encouragement, I'm gonna give 10-7 at the next DCC to the first lurker to respond!!!................ :D :(

I'll take it, BAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA. I been gone and kinna lurkin', do I count?

Nope, you don't count as a lurker....and as a matter of fact, for trying to misrepresent your lurkerness, you now have to give me a ball.....

OK, I'll admit, I am a lurker. I'll check in every now and then to see what's going on. By the way GulfportDoc, I also grew up in Terrebonne Parish, but currently live in Belle Chasse, LA (just south of New Orleans).

As for the initial post request, my name "DocHutch" speaks for itself.

Although a fan of 9-Ball, I have recently read Upscale One Pocket and have watched a few matches. My next step is to actually play 1P. I would very much like to learn, but have had trouble finding someone willing to play "just for fun".

Hutch, go to Corner Pocket or Buffalo's and tell Jamie or Robin, or Buff, respectively, that you want to learn 1P. They'll steer you to a passtime player, or perhaps even show you some stuff themselves. Lots of guys are showing an interest in one-pocket, so you'll find a practice partner.

Ghost, Haven't posted in years. I live right up the canyon from my funsy buddy Cocobola Cowboy. We just play for iced tea. 10-7 may not be enough
but what the heck, I've been trapped by experts before. You are on sir!

Cowboy Dick

Dear Mr. Ghost,

Since this SJD guy needs 10-7 from you and he's apparently a cowboy also, I'll try you out getting 10-7. But only for cheap. I am afraid of Ghosts.

Dennis........Obviously you have too much time on your hands - dredging up these old threads....now as for the weight you are requesting......you get the same very accomadating reply that SJD got from me....

Yes, I will be more than happy to give you 10-7....and in return, to be fair, you will be giving me 4 to 1 on the money....:)....bet what you want....:)

Ghosty, I hope this was a serious offer. It just might make me drive south in the winter. I think I can win 4 games out of 5 getting 10-7. And I really like that "bet what you want" part also. Of course, most times that someone has said that to me, they were stealing. You wouldn't rob me would you Ghost?
