It's the 30th anniversary of the first Legends of One Pocket event this year so I thought it would be nice if we could all share some materials/stories/photos etc.

The second Legends event was held in Philly later that year and is covered here - http://onepocket.org/forum/index.php?threads/legends-of-one-pocket-ii-philadelphia-style-1991.15414

The brackets and final standings

I have gone through my Accu-Stats videos of the event with a view to reconstructing who played who in the event. Coupled with the information from the The National Billiard News article, below is an incomplete list of matches and results.

This was a single elimination event. Judging by the payouts, there had to be 64 players (($39,200 - 20,000)/$300), of which 16 were seeded and 48 at large. Therefore, the 48 at large players had to get down to 16 first. On this basis, there were sixteen matches played in each of the first and second rounds.

Without further ado...

I've also attached the poster. Does anyone have it in better quality?

I believe the players are (clockwise starting at 12pm): Danny D, Grady, Cornbread Red, Jimmy Fusco, Steve Mizerak, Allen Hopkins, Mike Lebron, Buddy Hall, RA, Pete Fusco (?), Weenie Beenie

The small print in the middle reads: "Seeded players must have deposit paid by September 30, 1990. Seeded players may not enter at large"

Thanks Lou. This is from a later tournament held in Philly in July 1991. There were two Legends events in 1991 which is a bit confusing as the subsequent years had only one per year

Thanks jd67. It’s interesting that Fels’s article says the field comprised 40 players instead of 64. If it were true, there would have been a $7,200 gap in the payouts 🤔

I cannot edit the above post for some reason so I've attached a slightly better pic of the poster below

This poster is fromn the Legends tournament in South Carolina -- the green one of similar design is from Philly. You can see from the dates on each that the SC tournament was about 6 months earlier in January of 1991, whereas the Philly event was July 1991. There was another smaller "South Philly" One Pocket tournament I believe not filmed by Accustats. Jack Cooney was a notable player in the South Philly event.

? is Pete Fusco from Philly.
Yes Pete is from Philly. You probably know Pete and Jimmy were first cousins, not brothers, The funny thing is, there was a room owner in Philly that these two played out of for many years by the name of Mike Fusco that I believe was not a close relation at all.
