Couldn't pick harder matchups to get from rounds 7 to 11. Not to mention rd13 where he had to outplay himself apparently.
Evan needed to double dip and got one. Impressive display by Evan, too. But he didn't draw near as hard Fedor.
Happy to see Gorst do well. Looks like Roberto relieved him of his buyback already in rd2 of the one pocket.

spent some hours watching him on Youtube the past couple of days.
I think this accomplishment is impressive, his fundamentals are solid, his aim is true, his shot is accurate.
A pleasure to watch.

Gorst and Van Boening are playing the 9-Ball finals now. It looks like Gorst knocked Alex out last round. I believe that means Gorst has the Master of the Table locked up, having also won the Banks and finished decent in the 1P.

Good to hear. I've really enjoyed seeing more of him. Think he's a great ambassador for the game.

Gorst is Russian and an enemy of the United States. He has a GRB man with him at all times. How is he allowed to play?

Well Gorst defeats Van Boening 9-2 to finally wrap the 2023 DCC at 936 AM

Both players uncharacteristically missed shots and position more than usual, but Gorst not so much.

Looks like Tony took 2nd Master of the Table, behind Fedor, who ran away with it. Alex 3rd.

It has been mentioned that Gorst now becomes only the second player in DCC history to win all three of the main tournaments. The first was Alex Pagulayan. What makes this special is this is Fedor's second time playing at Derby. He did it in two years what took Alex ten plus years. Fedor made some other history as well.

He becomes one of only four players to have gone back to back All Around Champions:

Fedor- 2022, 2023
Alex- 2015, 2016
SVB- 2011, 2012
Efren- 2004, 2005

One of only 4 players to go back to back in a specific tournament:

Fedor- 2022, 2023 Bank Pool
SVB- 2011, 2012 One Pocket
Brumback- 2009, 2010 Bank Pool
Efren- 2004-2006 One Pocket

One of only 2 players in DCC history to win two events in one year:

Fedor- 2022 (Banks, One Pocket), 2023 (Banks, 9 Ball)
SVB- 2012 (One Pocket, 9 Ball)

Somebody on another board said Fedor has played in five DCC's...
I don't know exactly how many, but this is Fedor when he was about 16 years old in 2016, when under 21's were allowed to play at DCC because the casino was on the boat. I took the photo so I am certain it was 2016 :)
