Last night I stopped at the room and I watched two fellows play what at first glimpse a regular one pocket game. Not knowing either of the two I didn't ask what was going on. The next game they racked the balls (all 15) in the corner pocket and they played from there. I watched a couple of shots. Not wanting to get involved in someone else's gaff game I got up and left.
Can someone explain what the hell I just saw. Thanks in advance

What you witnessed was indeed a gaffe game.. Player 1 spots Player 2 12-3 13-2 ( or something along those lines). Player 1 gets the balls racked in his corner pocket, the break and the first shot. The gaffe is that usually after the break the balls will bunch up in front once the breaker has made 3-4 balls . Once Player 2 gets to shoot he blasts the rack ( usually a kick ) and sends balls all over the table. Now the game is 11/10 to 2 and balls uptable. Who do you like from here? I had a guy run 13 from the break on me. ( flukish ) I ended up beating him easily 4-5 games. As it turned out, his 13 ball run worked to my advantage in that it gave him the idea that he could do it regularly. Without the run he stays max 2 games.
