Ok guys, another year has rolled around, and it's time to book our rooms for the 2012 DCC before they're all sold out - prices are the same as last year...

I'm hoping to see everybody back from last year, and it would be great if some of you guys/gals who haven't met up with all of us there yet will make it this year --- Rod, Dennis, Larry, vapros, Clare, Frank, senor, Skin, etc. etc. come on now, it's about time for y'all to make an appearance --- and ms. sunnyone, let me extend to you a special invitation to attend, so we can find out if you really exist or not ;)...

I'm looking forward to some more matching up with One Pocket.org members again, singles or partners --- it's almost time to start the woofing...

I know John H. wants a re-match, and maybe we'll also finish our partners game - I know Frank wants a piece of me, after he clocked my weak game in Mountain View ;) - and I know young-straight-shooting Dudley and Tim-dog are on the improve big time, and they know I'm over-the-hill now and can't wait to take advantage of the poor old Ghost  - so I'll start saving up my $$$ now so I have enough with me to donate to everybody.

- Ghosty

PS, And if I'm not all the way healthy in time for the DCC, I might have to emulate Billy I. and SJD and play the 'bad health card' and ask people who I formerly played even for a little weight...:)

That reminds me of the Celtics always having injuries to their players just before a playoff series with the Pistons (or anyone else). Bird had a bad back, bone spurs, Parish had fill-in-the-blank wrong with him, Ainge pulled a muscle, DJ fell off his bankbook and pulled a toenail, McHale hit his head on a freeway overpass, Auerbach burned his hand with his cigar, that sort of thing. They always seemed to win though:p:eek::D.

I can't fly any more, but I am thinking of having my chaffuer, Fast Lenny, help me drive me to Shreveport, and driving up with Mike James. That way, should I run short, I will have a bottomless pit of money, (Mikey baby) and will stay in action "full time", side betting, or staking.

In the unlikely event, I get offered a game I think I can win at, I may come out of retirement, and try to play a little. It has been over a year, since I hit a ball (yada, yada, yada) but I have not forgotten how to bet my $$$$.

PS..This post is aimed specifically at anyone from Chicago !.:frus

Here's the 2012 info given by the Horseshoe >>>

It is time to begin reserving your hotel rooms at Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino Hotel for the 14th annual Derby City Classic to be held January 20-28, 2012. Please book online if possible, as this works perfectly. If you call to make your reservation, please let the agents know that you are calling for this tournament at Horseshoe Southern Indiana, present one of the booking codes below, that the property has informed you that rooms are available, and if the agent cannot book ask them to look up the event in the Offers/Groups in Factory for Horseshoe Southern Indiana. If you cannot get resolution from the reservations agent, please ask for a supervisor to get you booked.

• This deposit is taken at the time of booking and is nonrefundable. No exceptions will be made.
• A maximum of four people are allowed to stay in each room. Rollaway beds are not available.
• If the discounted 9-day package is booked and any one of the nine nights is canceled, all room discounts will be revoked. Prices for all nights booked will revert to the full individual date prices.

No, silly goose...You would be driving up to DCC with Mike and I, and maybe Charlie Brown...Then I would have three emergency back-up ATM's...However, I would save your $$$$, strictly for Casino gambling...

PS..Have you ever seen me lose, at craps or blackjack ?..

I'll be driving up from Alabama so I can be an armed escort for you! Can not wait.

I have PMed Steve on where to send my share of the entry fees for the event but he has not answered. I guess I can send it with my AZ room fees! :)

It all depends on how long you want to be at the Derby for, like yourself I am only interested in the one pocket. If you need someone to protect you and all that cash since you want have your weiner dogs with you just let me know, I am for hire cheap and as you know I will keep moving forward regardless of pepper spray and batons. (not enough IQ to just walk away) Next time I will wear one of these!

I just got word from Greg Sullivan that he is donating one entry into the One Pocket and Banks (not including buybacks) for OnePocket.org sponsored player this year -- so I will be posting more info, and we will have a good time selecting a player (or players) to sponsor. I haven't forgotten!

I am hoping to be able to attend again this year. I have been every year since '04 and I hate to think of missing it. If I get to go this year it will probably be for the 1P and I am going to try to attend the dinner if possible.

Steve,

Good enough. We can just figure out a fair amount and I will kick it into our general fund.

I just booked my flight via Southwest. I'll be there Friday to Friday. I got a great flight rate -- Southwest seems to be having a two-day sale for flights booked Oct 18-20 that includes travel during the Derby dates. I don't know if this link will work because I pulled it out of the email notice, but I think I saved about $150 below what the lowest fares were when I looked just a couple days earlier:

http://www.southwest.com/html/promo...NTZAeWFob28uY29t&src=MAILCNSTUES000000111018A

The HOF dinner will be as usual on Tuesday during the Derby -- that is January 24.

See you there!!

Whoever is (or are) our player(s) will no doubt want to buy back anyway, so that would be great to add to what we can offer the sponsored players...
