I guess if a thread can be posted about a bunch of teabaggers making asses out of themselves on an entertainment, propaganda network, then a post about a 9 Ball benefit tournament could be considered relevant. The Jeff Gregory heart value replacement fund tournament is this weekend at California Billiards in Mt View. Chris has graciously started this tournament as a way for the players to acknowledge that we all have medical bills at times we cannot afford and it gives us a chance to be humanitarians. A portion of the entry fee is going to Jeff and Chris is going to match that amount. You can pay extra to enterre the tournament. Tax deduction is allowed.
Our next tournament will have to be for Seamus, our Irish snooker champion who yesterday went into Stanford hospital for emergency brain tumor removal. No one yet knows the results but his wife just gave birth a few months ago. Seamus is always happy and joking and a fun player.
One thing is for sure, these are two nice guys who are young, and we thought healthy. It can happen to anyone.

Scrzbill, requests for donations are not unknown here. Sometimes it has been to bury a broke pool player, or for other causes. In this case, perhaps you should have skipped the insult to the teabaggers, as it was probably a bit counterproductive on this forum. Or maybe not.

...the request came from that unbiased, straight shootin', true-news-only network, the one with "Rick" Maddow. Only problem would be if you sent the donation to her, only half would go to the needy and the other half would go to further her strap-on-dildo collection. Or it might even wind up in her political party, "The HeadBaggers." I have already volunteered to cut the eyes out of the bags for them.

Beard

Don't get me started...his tea party remarks were vicious and cruel. My Rachel Maddow, MSNBC remarks were vicious, cruel, and funny.

I am not the one who posted political bull drivel to begin. Politics has no place in this forum but if someone wants to interject, I will voice my opinions about the terrorist who are holding the country hostage.

Are you refering to the Marxist/Socialist anti-American in the White House?

You're an idiot. The only anti Americans are the ones who hold all Americans hostage in the debt ceiling debate. The ones who are anti American are the ones willing to destroy America by obstructing every bill offered by democrats.

I bet it's tough understanding someone with a Rhodes scholar education when you have a road education. If you want to have political discussion, go back to weird net daily, or Redstate. It's more suited.

Gosh that was fun. And easy.

I'd suggest you take your own advice and discuss politics elsewhere with people who share your level of expertise.

Sorry Bill,

I am sure we can become good friends, when we meet,...But be prepared for some heated political discussions.. I sense you are leaning a little to the left...Thats OK, I think the entitlement idiots and slackers, who swept "neighborhood block watcher, Obama" into office, are the ones who really put this country in serious jeopardy. He has never run a business in his life, and he is running this one, (the USA) into the ground. (But he does give good speeches.)

If they outnumber the intelligent, productive, hard working american's again, and he is re-elected in 2012, as much as I love this country...I am outta here !!!...

PS..Rachael Maddow is an intelligent woman. (for a Lib)...I think she should marry Nancy Pelosi, than they would have half a brain to work with..(Rachael's)..:D

PPS..Sorry for the mini-hijack, of a much more important subject...I sent my donation to Jeff a few weeks ago, but Chris has been too busy to aknowledge it (I guess)....

Later Bill...Say hi to John H. ask him how the medication (YJ) I prescribed for him, is working ? Tell him to be careful, it can also act as a go-off elixer...:p :p

However, the blatant condescension contained in the above post is blinding.

Now, to put it into "road education" speak, "I aint dumb, pal!" I'm packing a 140+ IQ, am pretty, pretty, well read, and my grandkids lay up in the 99 percentile of all kids their age. (Am enclosing, as has been my recent custom, proof of my claims.)

Like my grandma used to say, and she has been proven right one way or the other every day, "School don't necessarily make you smart."

Pool wasnt the only game I hustled. For years I hustled Scrabble and Crossword puzzles.

Rod.

I aint sure. I know I sell Diana Hoppe's DVD, The Road Scholars, on my website. $19.95 plus shipping. Does that help? Maybe he spells like Artie.

Wha' do I know anyway? I have been cursed with only a "road education!" I once tried to enroll in Nuclear Science 101 at the Bensinger Billiard Academy (That was Bensingers actual name), but the class was already filled up.

Don't encourage him Fred. While I lack your extensive road education, I too have an IQ in the 140 range and, after graduating from the Southeast Asian School of War Games in 1969, I wasted a few years as a Political Science major with a minor in macro-economics (money drives politics, doesn't it?). When I was younger I might have been offended to be called an idiot. These days I just find it mildly humorous that someone is willing to expose their total lack of comprehension regarding the recent Washington debacle on the internet. Good grief, he shows no shame in parroting the analysis of Joe Biden. What does that tell you?

I think that mine is about half that. I think 70 is borderline something bad but you can't just go by that because see I have had determination and what not and I would just stay and take the test twice and that way I would accumulate as many points as the smart guys.

Naw really I think I am in the normal range. I made A's and B's through college but I had to work for them. Except for chemistry. Let's don't go there. I would have done better except as I was sitting in class, all that I could think about was getting the classes over with and going to hit balls on a pool table. I loved hitting balls so much that I did not want anyone to ask me to play because I would have to pause and let them shoot, so I formed a habit of not playing anyone unless they were a sucker or a stranger and wanted to gamble.

The country gambled on Obama. That's for sure. He says he needs more time. I would like to give him more time. About 25 years to life sounds about right. The only difference between my dog and that guy is that my dog has his papers. His medical plan makes as much sense as going through the Burger King drive through window and the window man says " Your order is free. The customer behind you will pay for it. And so on and so on" And by the way if the guy needs to raise some money we got halloween coming up so just fix up a bunch of Nancy Pelosi masks and you can make enough to pay medical bills and the national debt too. I think now it's about $45,000 for every man, woman and child in the country and he's talking about raising it more or being held in hostage. Get real. Or better yet get lost.

Absolutely hilarious. Throwing that many grenades in a row was outstanding. My favorite was, 25 to life.
If we cant joke about the absurdity of it all....

A majority of Italians have voted that Nancy Pelosi is not really an Italian, and have excommunicated her from our race: Reasons:

1. She's Catholic but Pro abortion
2. She has too much money to be an Italian
3. No mob people in her family background
4. She's Catholic but Pro Gay Marriage
5. Italian women's faces are expressive not frozen
Finally, 6. Much, much, too ugly to be an Italian

Just to be fair again. A bump for the original intent of this thread:

The Jeff Gregory heart value replacement fund tournament is this weekend at California Billiards in Mt View. Chris has graciously started this tournament as a way for the players to acknowledge that we all have medical bills at times we cannot afford and it gives us a chance to be humanitarians. Greetings from the lefty on the Best Coast. Thanks for keeping the thread at the top until the tournament could begin. I knew you would. My friends at the pool room are astounded by your replies. The most popular reply is: if their so smart, why do they keep voting against their own self interest.
Did you know S&P downgraded the intelligence level of Iowa after the straw poll last week from average to below average?

If you want more politics, I post at Huffington Post, Crooks and Liars, TPM, Media Matters, or Raw Story as SCRZBILL. I don't recommend watching faux before or afterwards though, your heads will explode. :) :) :) :)

Going to the tournament.

Rod.

When did I ever "refuse" to pronounce Ochoa's name correctly?

"Pronunciation: Refers to the way a word or language is spoken, or the manner in which someone utters a word. If one is said to have 'correct pronunciation', then it refers to both within a peculiar dialect.

A word can be spoken in different ways by various individuals or groups, depending on many factors, such as: the area which they grew up, the area in which they live, if they have a speech or voice disorder, their ethnic group, their social class, or their education."

Not everyone gets a good edumacation.
