This format is very difficult to make a line that will produce action, so the line will be designed IMO to give doubt to whomever you feel you like in regard to a betting perspective. The format is 3 out of 5 sets, race to 10 each set.
I will make a line for only the first set and also for the entire format.

I will most likely be doing commentary with Jeremy so making a line for sets two, three, four, and possibly set five will be too difficult for me to do while im working.

FIRST SET ONLY
*Set one- Pagulayan will be a 1-1/2 game favorite minus $160/$100. For Pagulayan supporters to win he must beat Chohan 10 to 8 or better.
For Chohan supporters to win Chohan must get at least 9 games or win the first set. Chohan supporters place $100/$120

WINNER OF THE MATCH

Pagulayan supporters are betting that Pagulayan will win the match by the score of 3/0-3/1. 3/2 will be a push...no action... Pagulayan supporters lay $16
0/$100

Chohan supporters will be betting that Chohan will win 2 sets and push or 3 sets and win. Chohan supporters will take $120/$100

Odds to win the match
- Pagulayan - $230/$100
Chohan +$190/100

0/$100

Maximum wagers $200 minimum wagers $50

Good luck.

Dr. Bill

Catkins--Chohan will not win 9 games 120/100. Set One
Cinci--Chohan will not win 9 games 140/100 Set one
Scrzbill Chohan does not win 9 games $300/$200 first set.

do you know any of the stats on table they will be playing on by chance

This won't help you much because I can't swear to it and someone (BRLongArm or jtompilot ideally) will come along who knows for sure.

I think I know which table and I think I know its pocket size. Anyway, I'm sure about Diamond and pretty sure about 4 1/8 unless for some reason -- which would surprise me -- the players or backers negotiate something else.)

They'll play on 4.25 pockets. It's the TV table, but they changed the top so that it's not 4.125. This was at Tony's request, which I think favors his style.

I agree, Justin Hall beat Tony on 4.125 pockets in the finals of the last Buffalo's tournament. Tony didn't play well on that top but IMO he has a much better chance of pulling out a win with the larger pockets. Tony is a very live dog in this match with the larger pockets, his ball striking ability is under Pagulayan's and the larger pocket will certainly aid him with his aggressive style. Pagulayan's all-around one pocket game is the strongest in the world today, make no mistake about that but Tony has the game that can upset him if he grabs the momentum and rolls with it. Tony is a monster when he's feeling it and Pagulayan will feel Tony's presence if Tony starts rolling.

Looking forward to watching this match, love the format. I have always been a supporter of multiple short races over one long race. It's a better format in many regards. Much more pressure playing multiple shorter races, which enhances the excitement of the match. Players will perform better always knowing that luck is not as a dominant factor in multiple races because surmounting deficits are more easily executed. I actually like races to like 5 or 6, best of seven sets. Now there's much more pressure and excitement which offers the dog in the match a better chance of winning. Just something to think about in the future. Closer matches add to the excitement and that's what we're shooting for "excitement" Anyways, try to tune in to this match it will be a good one.

Great assessment of these two players' abilities. Tony will fare much better than Justin in this match-up.

The short-race format is great because every set is a fresh start that motivates the losing player to catch up without having to worry about how many games he's lagging in a long multi-day set.

If the match-up weren't close enough, no backer would put up the money for Tony just out of the goodness of his heart. Tony's got a legitimate chance even though Alex is the world's best pound-for-pound one-pocket player.

I was betting assuming the tighter pockets because I definatly thought the tighter equipment would favor alex's game but will still keep the bet as is

There was a time that I remember when living in LasVegas I bet on a football game at the casino, later that day I realized that my quarterback wasnt playing. Always do your homework before placing a wager. The casino wouldn't allow me to cancel out my ticket.

IMO, I don't think Tony can win on a tight table or a tighter table if Alex plays his normal game.

Could it happen? Heck yea, that's why it's exciting!

yep I would agree with that I was just mentioning the tighter pockets because I definitely would make alex a huge favorite as opposed to just the favorite.

yep, my thought exactly.

Don't get me wrong, like I said before Tony could run all over him. From some of the play I have seen from Tony at the WCS and in his one match vs D.O., he has gears that are incredible to watch! He could beat anyone if he played like that all the time, but it's so hard to do!

That's why i am betting on Alex, I feel he is more consistent, lets see!

Playing sets is what they do in the USTA in all their Major events. Best three outta five sets with tiebreakers.
