I was playing some 8 ball in a league match last night when I left myself with typical (horrible) position, something like this:

START(
%Ac6F3%Bl6T3%Ck4S6%DO0H3%E^2Y6%FD5J5%GR4O8%Hd1N3%IQ9I4%JG6Y5
%KD5Q3%LT4P4%M_7Y2%Nq5O8%OU4M9%Po1W8
)END

I really didn't have much, so I thought for a sec and played a lil one pocket defense:

START(
%Ac6F3%Bl6T3%Ck4S6%DO0H3%E^2Y6%FD5J5%GR4O8%Hd1N3%IQ9I4%JG6Y5
%KD5Q3%LT4P4%M_7Y2%Nq5O8%OU4M9%Po1W8%Qq9O2%Um9U0%Vn8V9%Wo8D5
%Xm3S4%Yr9N9%Zo9C6%eB8a0
)END

The cue was frozen to the back side of the 14 at A, leaving him no shot whatsoever...my opponent isn't used to one pocket, so I know he wasn't sure what I was going for, but when he saw the result, he kinda stared at it in this confused way and dejectedly mumbled "....damn....nice shot...."

I've found this happen often in other games: playing D, dealing with clusters, hitting a two railer at a bar when you know people are watching...all from one pocket knowledge...now if only I could get more guys my age into it...
