Brings to mind

Guys that try to shoot their way out of everything. Too proud to use their brain and try to think thru the situation. Like I said, guys like this, after I broke them they would go on two week drunks or dope binges.

For some reason the above reminded me of this piece:

You have a facile relationship with the truth Freddy.

Keep up the good work.

Never said he wasnt a good player, what I did mean is that he is not a finished player, and if he comes up against one in a long stretch and for big money, those little piccadillo's will come back to haunt him. He aint always going to be young and fearless.

His aggressive style works for him because he is executing excellently. How would he do if he never hardly missed and also played dynamite safeties? He is not winning because he is shooting harrigans, he is winning in spite of them, ala Keith McCready and Cole Dickson who shot just like that, and who I broke when I could defend myself and they tried playing harrigan bank pool.

So you are like the casino...just keep them playing and the odds will eat them?

I hate trying to bank when I am against the rail, where as if I am playing any other game it doesnt seem to affect me. My question or point old bearded one :heh, is there a big difference in safety play in banks verses say 9 ball or one pocket?

Reminds me a little like the time I was playing John Brumback banks in my homeroom in Kentucky. He was watching and helping me (at least trying), and finally he says, "You play banks like a 9 baller!". I took that as not a compliment.....He followed up with, "Shoot with center ball, center ball, center ball." I think he was trying to make a point....

Thanks my friend.

The difference between being on the rail in 9 ball and on the rail in bank pool, is that in banks you are usually going to have the hit the shot harder because the object ball has to traverse rails. In 9 ball you just have to shoot the ball into a pocket; in banks you have to shoot it into a rail before it goes into a pocket.

Safety play in banks is probably a little harder at times because you are forced to defend against all 6 pockets. One pocket , you only have the one.
That is why being on the hill in 1 pkt is much stronger than bank pool, because your opponent has so many more opportunities to catch up, what with the availability of 6 rather than just the one pocket.

I'm not trying to apologize to you for complimenting you on your excellent exposition of the above, but like I have previously said...Your strong suit is your way with words and your ability to express yourself. And for that fact alone the many players/people that frequent this site will have a better understanding on how to think and play..the right way.

It may have been "damning with faint praise"
Not at all, just telling it like it is.

Many people/players possess an abundance of knowledge, however, only a few have the charm to deliver it the way Freddie can. I find that when I like how people speak my ears are more open, and if you truly know your stuff then you're a pace setter. Somewhat like Obama :D

Yep. Lucky that only one of them knows what that means.
We all can't be as cognizant as you, fortunately we also have you as our .peace maker. I've noticed how informed you are about understanding concepts and understanding the value in selecting options, very impressive you are.
