Returning to the 12-4 game Dick mentioned, has anyone else played any game in which more balls are spotted than are needed to finish the game? Just asking - I've never seen this.
Well I don't really want to post his name since he's been having so many problems lately with accurate quotes, memory lapses and plain overall bad recollections of past events BUT, I have seen a top bank pool player from the Chi-Town area say that in the past he has played people so dumb that he gave them 10-7 and they let him spot up two balls and go to 8 instead of him spotting one ball and going to 9 (favoring the better player).

Hey SJD Dennis already started, albeit with flawed logic, to show your error re my original post, so I won't go into that :p

But pray tell - how the hell is Gabe gonna run 17 balls before spotting any ??? :)

Very simple Treeperson...He runs 15 balls and spots his 10 balls, (or 6, for the "purist's") plays shape on the bottom ball, and shoots it in the hole, breaking up the other balls, to get however many more he needs...Its not hard,...I have done it thousands [sic] of times...

Am I surrounded by "flawed logic"....?.

Senor el Duck, that is quite a run, having done so myself many times [sic].

But you said, and I said, that he runs 17 and then spots the balls, which might be possible with the use of two additional and valuable balls from his person. But does he have the ba**s to lay it all out?;)

My treeperson self on the other hand, being relegated to androgynous status, has no fear of laying balls on the table. Pocketing them is another problem though :) .
