Just paid my entry fees for the Derby (Name staying the same despite move, reminds me of the Dodgers), sent in my money for the AZ-One pocket Room plus donation, have my room, am only allowing one pocket on my 9 footer til then...

Some thoughts that have come across my little mind. Anyone with knowledge, a guess or opinion can chime in.

Now the we are in a casino, and different town/state, will the free wheeling money on the lights, Buchtooth gone wild atmosphere still survive or will we have to chill it down?

As we did at least have a draw posted on our TV screens in our rooms kept most of us from a forfiet on the crazy re-draw after each round, will we have the same there? How about the players who can't get into the Casino Hotel? Will they be able to leave the event for any period during the long week?

Can we chip in and get Bunny a New Tux?

Freddie, bring more really big shirts for us man sized guys!

Can we set a time for all of us to meet that post on here in the AZ room to have a handshake with all you historical guys so us modern day histerical guys can get a picture or two for our meager trophy rooms? :)

Dick, will you turn down my offer to give you 9-6 for big money, in front of my wife, so I can gain back my manhood and can throw away that Viagra crap? :) JK

Will the vendor display area be better? It is a tight squeeze every year down the hallway and I can only take so many versions of fake leather cases that hold 6 cues!

Can someone alert me this year if you plan to set the damn hotel on fire! Fat Boy's money was not in his room anyway.

Please invite any of us that have need to any of the sessions to discuss strategy between you guys. If it is after hours, I have over 100 of those Diamond slugs that get dumped into the bottom of my case every year. I'll pay the table time! :)

I owe so many beers I'll be happy to buy them all at once if you just let me know where you are.

Are plans being made for better hookers this year? Not that I care but my road partner was gettin mightly chummy with those poor waitresses last year.

Will The Action Report be in the works this year?

Come on, inquiring minds want to know.

This will be my first Derby, and as the recipients of some of my $$ at the Gulfport One Pocket tournament will attest to, I ain't coming that far to sit on the bench. The first player I yanked of the rail to play some $50 one pocket turned out to be Biloxi Mike, the best player in the area and 2nd in the tournament. I also sent care packages to Chicago and New Orleans. But I must warn you, I am looking to get even and then some. I am bringing enough bullets to keep firing until I book some winners and a secret coach to help my cause. Why I might even play some partners with San Jose Dick if we can find anyone dumb enough to play. Of course their total age has to match up near ours - somewhere around 140 years will work.

Looking forward to meeting all of you I haven't met already.

I am so looking forward to Derby City this year! It is fantastic that both John & Dick will be there. You and I met in CA in about '04, John, but this will be a first at DCC -- and you are going to love it. Say, does the "D" in DCC stand for Dick???

We are not looking for a game we can actually win at are we? Let's see, you & Squirrel are probably around even, Billy gave me 9/7 - 8/7 the only time we played and we came out close to even (I lost less than 10 games), so that might be the game.

I will run it by Ronnie so he can knock it or go in with Billy & Squirrel.

I am banking those S/S checks in eager anticipation.

I gotta say, and I know I speak for Freddy too......Dick and John, I sure do admire you two guys....You guys lay down such a nice, smooth, soft-con spread - playing your computer keyboards like a violin....As soon as I was able to snap myself out of the confident, mellow 'I can't lose' mood that you guys put me in with your sly self deprecating words, I was so nervous that even though you guys are 2000 miles away from me, I went over and checked my pants pocket to make sure my wallet was still there.....:eek::eek::D:D

Ghost's pants

Ghost's pants

Ghost, at the risk of seeming nosy, how is it that you gotta take a walk to look in your pants pocket? Are you strolling around the maison in your snuggies? Suppose the place catches fire. :D

Extra trousies?

Extra trousies?

Yeah, but just wait until Obama gets innoculated. You will have to share your stuff with me. And I don't want none of them old flares, either. Send me the ones with your wallet in the pocket. :D

The only hookers I am worried about are the ones that hide you from your next shot!

Ace,

I see you're from Longview. Is my old buddy Tommy Moorman still around.
He used to own a bar and a few other business's there.
He was a regular stop for me on my Dallas/Shreveport route.
Tommy was one of those, cash register, safe, vending machine, barmaids tip jar, type of guys when he went off. He even went for a few of Titanic's old gaffs.
Tommy eventually became convinced I was unbeatable, then I turned him into a stakehorse...boy, did I show him. Seriously, he was a good old boy with a lot of gamble.
He was a few years older than me, so if he's still around, you may have to check out the care facilities around there.
Are you DCC bound in Jan. ?

Dick, I have never run acrossed a Tommy Moorman and I have lived in Longview since 1978. Do you have any idea what bar he used to own? I am going to DCC again and competing in one-pocket and 9-ball. Look me up while your there and we will play some.

This would be in the 60's Ace, I can"t remember the name of his bar. He also had a Dairy Queen franchise. He must have moved on (or passed on) by '78.
As for playing me at the DCC, I simply have too many other offers to even consider playing someone ACTUALLY competing in the tournament. I will only accept weight from helpless old men like, Freddy, Ghost, Billy and a few others.
Thanks anyway.
Titanic Dick
PS I bet you know Charlie Brown, from Henderson, TX don't you ? He's known as the King of Calcutta buyer's.

Dick,

Good enough! Then we can do it twice, once for DeeWoman and once for your new love.

Probably won't impress either and my wife says I can't do anything twice. :(

Dick,

Watch out for this Longview guy. He's my road partner and we will have the loud room at Derby with women running out of the room at all hours, if they can get the handcuffs loose.

I knew Tommy but remember him from Arkansas back in the 1960's. I hears he passed a few years back but am not sure. I think he made the trip from Texas to Texarkana when the crops were in. I remember he always thought the folks keeping his place open were stealing him blind but so I never figured why he left them in charge.

Look for me and Ace all over Derby City, we'll be the ones with the "Loser" signs on our foreheads. :)

Deeman, Time does cloud the memory. You may be right about TM's origin,
But at the time I knew him ( 63 to early 70's) he lived in Longview with his family. Spent several overnighters at his house. Don't remember him having a
farm anywhere. He was a kinda citified dude. Tall nice looking gent. Did you know him well ?
Can't imagine him a farmer.
Be sure and invite my road partner to your all night orgies, He is REALLY into that sort of thing. Where do you live ?
I have an ever expanding list of guys NOT to play. You and Ace were allready on it. But thanks anyway.

Dick and his Road partner
