DCC Layout for 2020

Has anyone nearby gone to the casino and checked out how the layout might be for the tournament?

How many tables will there be now?



I know they raised the entries fees substantially this year to put it out of reach for the average players which will cause a lot less entries for the tournaments in my opinion.

I’d almost bet there’s going to be a lot of people that have no idea that that raised the entries as much as they did.

I unfortunately think this year will be a cluster f@ck for this tournament which used to be the highlight of the year but has just gotten worse and worse year after year.

Hope I’m wrong.

They took one of the most player friendly venues ever, and turned it into a money trap, at a stinking cheezy casino.
I think they will regret not having all the wannabes playing , they are probably 70% or 80% of the total till, until the final weekend.
I used to have nothing but great memories from my time there. The last few years it has gone down hill like a runaway elevator.
It reminds me of the US Open in Chesapeake under the former owner.
Stuck in the middle of nowhere, with no choice, but to play against a stacked deck, or go home.
F that.
jmo, and I really hope I am just in a funk, but I don't think so.

Harrahs is the worst.

It was absolutely predictable that it would go downhill.

I'm interested in hearing why you think the entry fees are out of reach for the average players?

If it was $500 I could understand that, and those entries keep me from playing in most one pocket events.

If $260 per tournament times 3 = $780 isn’t out of reach for average players I guess I’m wrong.

Just the $260 for one tournament is too much for the average player.


Like I said, I could be wrong.....but I’m not.

I think it’s 160 not 260 — but still a big jump in the banks

No ice cream! That is where a good part of my budget went. I have missed the last couple years and won’t be there again. No tables to gamble on unless you want to wait until midnight and overpriced food when you can get it.

The casinos on the river have been in financial trouble for years and the remodel of this one looks like they will gouge the pool players even worse.

If you are a diehard pool player you should go at least once, because it is special, but if you are a grouchy old fart like me, it is easy to stay away.

Easy choice for me as I'm a 3-1/2 hour drive and have family to visit/stay with in town when i get there. If they jam all the gambling tables again or have slots ringing everywhere I can just go back home before I enter...lol. So I'm not trapped. Interesting fact, Sky as a all around winner has a free room but is staying in New Albany with friends so he wont be trapped by the Casino and crappy food. Greg and family really need to rethink this Casino deal and get it back in Kentucky where there are more options for hotels, food and travelers aren't trapped in the middle of nowhere.
The positives are it's not a big warehouse, is very comfortable venue for play and viewing. Plus we get to visit with everyone.
