    Offense vs. defense

A little quiz! (for us older guys)😄😄😄😄 Which NFL coach said “Offense sells tickets defense wins games”? He had great defensive teams and went to the Super Bowl but never won.

    Winning One Pocket

If you want to read a copy of Eddie Robin’s book go to your local library and ask them to do a search. I did this a few years ago and they found a copy in the Newark, NJ library which I was able to take out on loan.

Has anyone ever won an even game of one-pocket where your opponent made every ball for you? If not, what's the most balls your opponent made in your pocket?

    Patch Eye

Henry was taken out of Tacony Billiards in Phila. by the rescue squad the other day after filling ill. Results of heart and other tests were negative so it seems he'll be fine. Dr's chalked it up to advancing age. BTW, if you didn't know, Joe Veasey aka "Philadelphia Joey" passed away a few...

    Funning incident from yrs. ago

Back in the 60's before Atlantic City had casinos we used head down to AC since the bars were open 24/7 and there was some action on the bar tables. One spot we always hit was the Stagedoor bar which was in the Sylvania Hotel across the street from Rocky's--today it would be a little right of...

    It's not how well ...............

In gambling, it's not how well you play but how well you can make a game. I've seen very good players who consistently make bad games and some average players getting the best of it many times. Who are some of the BEST game makers over the years? I'd ask for the worst as well but I hate...

    Efren's display in the 2006 DCC semi-finals

Looks like the 3 ball bank is the best and safest shot. But as an alternative draw off the 5 and go behind the 1 thereby 3 railing the 4 ball.

    Efren's display in the 2006 DCC semi-finals

I saw Eften shoot that shot against a very good Phil. player. It blew the guy away and he never recovered. It was quite a few years ago before everyone knew of his magic. Here's a shot he did against another well-known and top pockets player: START(...

    Efren's display in the 2006 DCC semi-finals

He's truely amazing!!! The interesting part of the shot to me is the fact that you can't use low right since it might come off the 2nd rail too high. He recognizes this instantly whereas I might have used the wrong English and would only know it was wrong after I screwed it up. In addition...

    Rules question

This question came up on a tape of a match I was watching narrated by Buddy Hall and Nick Varner. Your trying to spot a ball in a tight cluster and the ball slips out of your hand scattering the balls. It didn't happen in the match but they brought up the question and didn't have an answer.

    Peter "Peter Rabbit" Linhart-Phil. PA

Some of you probably know Peter Rabbit from Philadelphia and probably are not aware that he's in a hospice with brain cancer. He will most likely spent his remaining days at this facility. I spoke to his nurse today and due to his medication he sleeps quite a bit but is still alert and goes...
