That's what I thought, since your game has elevated a ball or 2, don't you think that 9/8 is more fair then your proposal of 9/7--8/7 ?:) Or possibly you might try the partner game again?

Billy I.

I don't think I play good enough for 9/8. Depends on how you play and the very least I would take is 8/7 - 9/8 and not for a lot of $$. Maybe short races for 1k just to play.

I will have to see how I do in the partners game with the Ghost & Bernie. If I can wiggle out of that trap I may fire it at you.

As far as the partner game with you and Artie again, I think I got beat 7/1 or 7/2. Artie wouldn't have to run balls in that game. I'll pass.

That's not a bad counter, and i'll definetly consider it. As far as the partner game the first time we played, you know how poorly you played, so the score of the match is missleading. Plus Artie is weaker now then, then, believe it or not. Anyways we'll probably both be in action at the Derby, and I really cant play long hrs. or consecutive days, considering how poor my back is. I made that mistake in Mobile, and it almost cost us the money. The only reason Artie and I won, was because we got off to a early lead and barely hung on. At the end of our match, Ricky and Clint were clearly the favorite, but Ricky left with out finishing the match. He had some important business to attend to. I'm glad he left.

Good luck at the tournament, and don't beat too many filipino's, you'll knock your action.;)

John, I think 9/8 is a closer game then 9/7--8/7, and if you want to play me great, if I win I will adjust. Like yourself my dance card is fairly busy too.

By the way I don't think Artie is interested in playing you again, since his latest outing against Ricky Bird turned out the way it did. But I will let Artie speak for himself. He's somewhat embarrassed and doesn't know what to say, or how to say it.

Billy I.

Billy, I think John was proposing he and I play even. Right John??

Is it a Fair game?

ps. and no, The docs haven't been able to do anything about the nerve damage in my neck....arm's still shaking like Dick Lane and Stevie Moore had a love child...

ppss... No offense to either of them!! LOL

D@amn it!

Well, instead of hijacking threads left and right with all of our barking and challenging each other, I figured we should put it all over here in it's own thread..

One of my traveling informants told me that he saw the Beard hitting them pretty sporty against Jet at Red Shoes recently. Said he looked like he was seeing them pretty well for a guy with cataracts.

You are not trying to sneak up on poor old Johnny are you Freddie? Of course you are, but that is ok cause I plan to be in dead stroke for The Derby, and after I dust off The Ghost and Bernie, I'll be wide open.

Of course if they beat me, I'll sing another tune.

Save all that watermelon con, JH. The Beard is, and always was, knockproof.
I havent played good in 15 years. For me to win, my outsmart quotient has to be about 10 to 1. I now have one good eye and one bad one. 20/20 in the left and 20/500 in the other. That is legally blind.
You know I gotta be stone dead considering the way the Ghost has been woofin at me.

Beard

10 to 7 might draw me out

Coupla things re. the DCC

Coupla things re. the DCC

Coupla things/info re. the DCC...especially for those that haven't been before, or only once...

Imo, unless you're a 9ball player/fan (and if you are, you shouldn't be here reading this ), of the 9 days of the tournament, the first 6 are the best days to be there....#1. Because you will see the Banks and the One Pocket divisions of the DCC, and #2. Because it's less crowded then, particularly the first 2-3 days - if you want to get on a tournament table to gamble, or get on one of the tables in the private az/onepocket.org room, it's much easier the first few days...

The rooms at the tournament venue casino are $120 wkday $140 wkend a night.....that said...here's some good info for any of you that are driving in, and are on a budget...8 miles away are a Holiday Inn and a Hampton Inn for about $95 a night....but about 10-12 miles/15-20 minutes away from the casino, on a real pretty country highway, there's a Motel 6 - it's only $50 a night...not too many people know that it's there, but those that do jump on it - it may be already booked, so if you're interested you should make a reservation now....a friend of mine stayed there last year during the tournament, and he said it was fine - clean, quiet, etc....here's the name and contact info >>>

Motel 6 - Georgetown #4097
1079 North Luther Road
I-64 at SR 64, Exit #118
Georgetown, IN, 47122
Phone: (812) 923-0441

Hey Keith.....I don't know, it's hard to say ahead of time, with some of us having tournament matches to figure in also....but I imagine we won't play Saturday, the first day we're all there - we'll all be saying hello and getting in a little practice....and I don't believe Papie is staying all week like the rest of us...so I would think somewhere's between Sunday-Tuesday/Wednesday we'll play our gambling match-ups.

Practice...You need practice !!! ??? Haven't you been practicing for 50 years or so ?...I'll be ready to play, as soon as my feet touch the ground in Ky...I will however, need to "practice" my drinking for 10 or 20 minutes, there are a few kinks I still need to work out (after only 60 years of practice)...Practice,...sheeesh,...are you sure you're not from Detroit ?..:p :D

Ok Papie.....We can play our match on Saturday or Sunday...it'll be a lot easier to get a table then anyway.......once the 400-plus entry One Pocket tournament gets underway Sunday night & Monday, it's hard to get a table to play on.

- Ghrosty

PS, If the Beard was to send a neighborly couple of drinks over to our table for us - you wouldn't be suspicious of jarring would you?......:D :D

Yep, the best move is still to enter the banks for cheap, and then have free access to everything all week...;)

12-6 from the Ghost??? He must have won the Illinois lottery, been drinking, on LSD, AND been in a beneficent mood to give up THAT spot!

Doc

Actually Doc, I heard the poor guy had lost both his arms, just above the elbow, and also one leg, in 'nam... The Ghost would mercilessly leave the cue ball
in the middle of the table, and insist the guy keep his "only" foot on the floor, while Ghosty giggled at his plight.

Our hero fought valiantly, and actually broke even a few sessions, but the Ghost would usually quit him a few games winner, and try to change the game... (Sort of like
his counterpart in Detroit, treats poor Quad...

I also have it on good authority...now that the guy has been fitted with prothesis', on the three missing limbs,...Jasper is holding out for weight..

L.C. Duck <--- Please note: the Duck always makes a fair game, when people are handicapped...(like a deformed thumb !)

Hey Bernie!....John's gonna think he's Bill Murray, in the movie Groundhog Day...:p...he's gonna wake up at the DCC and think he's back in Galveston again, getting heisted by Billy and Artie......

...know what I'm sayin' Bern...I'm Artie, and your Billy..;)..I'll be putting John in deathtraps - then he tries to escape, fails, and sells out - and then you run 8 and out...it should work like a charm...:D

This is the Derby, not Galveston, and my record so far at this place is pretty good. Don't bark too much, I might raise it to $600 a man.

You better play this match first before SJD gets ahold of you. He will show you what squeezing is all about.
